What a browser and network still do
A few things happen that are not cookies but get confused with them. The browser caches pages, images and stylesheets so the site loads faster on a second visit, which is a browser function and holds nothing identifying. The hosting and delivery network records technical request data in server logs, which the privacy notice describes. Neither of those places anything on a device that could be used to recognize a visitor later on.
Cookies on the sites you leave for
The moment a link is followed off this site, this notice stops applying. Gambling operators set cookies extensively, for session handling, analytics, affiliate attribution and advertising, and so do regulators, helplines and everywhere else linked from here.
Promotional links to operators are marked as such, and the arrangement behind them is described on the terms page. Following one will usually result in cookies being set by that operator under its own policy, including one recording where the visit came from. That is their processing rather than ours, and their cookie notice governs it.
Changes and questions
If this site ever introduces anything that sets a cookie, this page will be updated and an appropriate consent mechanism added before it goes live rather than after. Questions about any of it can go through the contact page.
